La Turballe is the largest fishing port in the Pays de Loire in terms of both tonnage and value. Formerly the largest French port on the Atlantic coastline to the anchovies, it is more specifically focused today on species such as bass, mackerel or squid.

      In 2009, fishermen landed at the Port of Turballe about 4300 tons with a value exceeding € 14.5 million.
