Using a system of belts which go round the boat's hull, elevators, position above the harbour basin, can lift boats out or into the water. These machines also provides transport in the careening area.

       Elevators is manoeuvred by a driver in a cabin and by a colleague on the ground who guises the operation, which lasts about one hour. Each year, the elevator performs some 1 300 operations.
