At La Turballe, since January 1995, the auctioneer no longer conducts a live sale. He has been replaced by the MOBY CLOCK, a electronic sales device, on which two sales agents start the auction and deal with the processing of all sales and purchases. The system is linked to the Auction management and to the fish merchants' premises, thus enabling the participation of external buyers and the monitoring in real time of all operations.

Each fish merchant has a transmitter with which he takes part in the sale on the dial (disc displaying the bids) by simply pressing. The appliance transmits a radio signal, the computer system automatically selects the most recent bid. The result of the auction is displayed and the lots purchased are collected as they are sold.

At each bid, the name of the bidding merchant, the purchase p[rice, the lot and the name of the boat are displayed on the screen. If a lot does not find a buyer, the product is removed from the market on the basis of reserve prices prepared annually.
