The Fish Marketing Centre, fully renovated in 1995, houses on the ground floor the cold room for the storage of fish, the sorting room and a 1000 metre sales hall. The Fish Marketing Centre provides storage for 250 tonnes of merchandise under refrigeration.
Premises provided for 12 independent fish merchants each has a cold room.

Compliance with EC standards has meant, together with other health measures, that entrance to the auction is reserved solely for fish trade professionals. A "visitors gallery", accessible by a staircase, on the harbour side, enables the public to watch an auction being held. The auction is held every morning at 7 am, from Monday to Friday.

The catch on the boats is notified to the port before their return, by telephone or Internet and recorded on the catch declaration board. .
After unloading, the fish, packed in trays weighing approximately 15 kg, is weighed by the fishermen or staff of the auction and transferred into the sales hall after a thorough veterinary inspection. The trays are visible to all buyers before sale. Only trade professionals: fish merchants, wholesalers and fishmongers take part in the sale.
